I have a Certificate in Life Coaching from New York University. I bring a high level of enthusiasm to my practice and am energized by the challenges of working with a diverse group of clients to help them identify their goals and design action plans to achieve them. As a coach, I integrate best practices in the field with many years of life and professional experience.

After graduating from Cornell University, I worked as a travel writer and editor for a series of guidebooks and magazines, was a news writer and editor at the CBS Television Network, and taught classes in Broadcast Journalism at Brooklyn College and Kingsborough in New York City. I am a lifetime member of the Writers Guild of America, East and have served on its National Council which acts as an advisory board for thousands of members in television, film and digital media. I also help manage Digital Resources, Inc., an engineering software company in Brooklyn. Together with my husband, I have raised a son and two daughters, the youngest of whom is in college and the others graduates, successfully making their way in the world.

My different roles as a mother, journalist, teacher and lifelong learner inform my coaching practice and enable me to support my clients in their myriad journeys of exploration and discovery. One of my major goals is to be the best coach I can be for my clients. I feel very fortunate to be engaged in such a rewarding pursuit and am honored to have the chance to meet with, learn from and support incredible individuals as they work towards fulfilling their potential.

Coaching has developed in the last two decades into a profession practiced by thousands of coaches all over the world. Its earliest roots date back thousands of years to ancient Eastern and Western philosophers and those roots grew and gained sustenance from many predecessors through the centuries-- psychoanalysis, humanism, the human potential movement, positive psychology, psychotherapy, neuroscience, organizational development and sports psychology to name a few. Coaching incorporates some of the best thinking of those disciplines to offer an evidence based process to maximize human performance and potential. A number of universities offer certifications in coaching and numerous coaching institutes offer training. Some individuals have forged their own approach to coaching based on their life experiences.

My approach combines my studies at New York University where I earned my certification, with varied and rich life experience, all informed by my desire to help others figure out how to reach their goals and enrich their lives. Coaching is an entirely collaborative process where the client controls the agenda and the coach controls the coaching process. It is a future focused exploration aimed at helping the client identify goals, whether personal or professional, and break them down into manageable steps to reach them. Coaching can help you figure out what you want, how to get there, and hold you accountable. We do this by exploring and brainstorming options and following up on inspired, designed actions. In order for coaching to be successful, the coach and client need a strong rapport, based on mutual respect and trust. The client is whole and resourceful and capable. The coach is open, curious, empathetic, inspirational. The coaching relationship is powerful and can help clients find balance and fulfillment in their lives.

I coach clients on a wide variety of personal and professional goals. Sometimes, the client is clear on what the goal is and other times, coaching helps the client identify his/her goals. In both cases, we work on creating SMART goals which are specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and time bound. Once the SMART goal is established, we employ coaching models to design an Action Plan which breaks down the goal into manageable steps. Depending on the goal, the process can take a few sessions over a period of weeks to multiple sessions over a periods of months. The coaching process is powerful and effective in supporting clients in closing the gap between performance and potential in whatever their goals may be.

I have worked with clients of diverse backgrounds and ages, both male and female, to help them reach their goals and find fulfillment and balance in their lives.

Some of my coaching niches are:

  • Career Transition
  • Work/Life Balance
  • Health and Well Being
  • Surviving and Thriving during School Transitions- Middle school, high school, college for children and their parents.
  • Boomerang Kids- How to support your adult children as they work toward independence and maintain peace in the family.
  • Empty Nest- What to do when they leave.
  • Third Act Coaching- How to find fulfillment and balance in your 50's, 60's and beyond.

"Stacey is the ideal coach. She is approachable and thorough and supportive. I came to her with several large, complex projects that I was having difficulty coming to terms with, and over many weeks, even as I was still lost in the weeds, she kept focused and kept asking answerable questions and led me to an open mental space where the paths were clear to see. By the end of this process, I will have a permanent Stacey in my head which will allow me to be my own coach. And if I should veer off those paths, or they tangle again, I have her number now, and will call her again."

"If you are in the midst of a major life transition or encountering barriers to reaching your professional and/or personal goals, I would unequivocally recommend you make an appointment with Stacey. After working with Stacey once a week for 12 weeks, I was able to make a commitment to self-employment that allowed me to focus exclusively on my consulting business. Setting realistic objectives framed by my discussions with Stacey and committing to meeting those objectives by a specific date, worked! My consulting business is thriving, and I have learned techniques that help me stay on task and provide my clients with the excellent service they deserve. Stacey's perceptive comments, attentive listening skills and ability to reframe a seemingly entrenched situation into one that can be managed, allowed me to leave each session empowered with the tools I needed to achieve my goals. If you can get on Stacey's calendar, the investment in yourself will begin to pay dividends after your first session."
